Admissions

As I am taking dual credit classes that will allow me to get a jump start, all the highlighted classes, are classes that I am taking now. So because o dual credit I am already a student at WKCTC and will not have to apply again until they come here in april when they sign us up for our classes in the fail semester.

But if I did have to apply for the first time then I would go to the main website and click the tab that says Admissions. Then at the very bottom of that page there will be a section called "How do I get started?" they will have a link for how to apply step by step. That link will be the second highlighted phrase in the paragraph. It will tell you where to go from there.

3. Painting of field by Unknown Artist

This painting by an unknown artist using a certain color pattern to give the viewer a sense of a tranquil Fall afternoon. The artist gives a sense of depth to the painting when they paint the brown grass very large in the foreground of the painting to make it look as if we were on the same level as the grass looking out over the field. He also uses value to add texture to the greass, trees, bushes, and the barn making it appear real.

"The Book Carvings of Brian Dettmer"

Brian Dettmer Carves books like old dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. using surgical tools, knives and tweezers to carve them into works of art. Brian was born in 1974, Chicago and attened Columbia College he was focused on painting while he was there, but then he started to study the connections between text and language while working at a signage store. Where it started to influence his paintings like painting text, braille, and morse code. Which lead to the layering of newspaper and books pages on his work. I believe the effect of his work is to show that text and books are a type of art and that it also holds information and pictures that you can see in your head.

2. Vladmir Kush

Vladmir Kush is an American artist. He liked to paint surrealism. Which is a movement that sought to release the creative potential of the inconsious mind through painting, sculpting, etc. I believe the effectiveness of these paintings is to take the real world and see it in a different light. To see that there are different ways to see the world and interpret it.

1. Autumn Falls painted by Jaison Cianelli

This painting was painted as a landscape. I believe that the painting depicts a waterfall in a forest or in the woods. The color choices are interesting becasue they look as if they are showing this image in the Autumn. And to show the branches of tree and bushes they use black as an accent on top of the colors. the they use  the blue and green hues to complement the reds and oranges.
they use acrylic paints on canvas for this painting. this might also be considered an abstract if you didn't know the name or the type of painting it was you probably wouldn't be able to tell it was a waterfall in the woods or forest.

2.Ai weiwei

Ai Weiwei is a famous chinese artist. He does many types of artwork. That include: architecture, curating, photography, and film. he uses many mediums to create his artwork. His uses doors, lights, bikes, etc., but he likes to use a lot of different types of chairs. Chairs are funtional art, that he uses to create his work, by arranging them into to ways that defeat their purpose. I believe the effectiveness of this was "to create a strategy of defiance of the status (symbol, value, function) of monuments that functions like an autoimmune deficiency: in presenting monument-like elements the artist undermines the very essence of commemorative structures, imploding their significance."

1. Contemporary works

RED HOT no 34 Contemporary Art Palette Knife Horse Painting -- Laurie Justus Pace  Red Hot painted by Laurie Justus Pace. I like this piece of art because this use of the bright colors and the green that compliments the red. Also I just like the hosre in the middle of it because. I love the light and dark brush strokes used to bring the horse to life, and even though the horse in painted the same colors as the background the lines used give your eye a sense of direction to see the horse that is there.

8. Not interesed in Computer Programming...

I have alot of likes and dislike about what I want to do for my career. I like the idea of being an artist or a forensic scientst, but I dont like the idea of being stuck as a computer programmer.
A computer programmer is responsible for creating the programs that are need for even a basic computer. they use this special language called "python" and "C++". they haev many responsibilities that include working on big and small projects. Or with other people that are also computer prgrammers. They have to have great techinal skills and intellegence about computers. ust be able to work in groups both large and small.
To be a computer programmer there are certain education needs that you will need. Some schools offer a two-year associate’s degree or a certificate program. But many choose to pursue a four year bachelors degree. In some situations you may be required to have a graduate level degree in programming to be eligible for the position. Internships and other opportunities provided needed experience in the field. And attending seminars and going on with any education programs also help the computer programmer to keep up with the new advancements in technology.
The average salary for a computer programmer is around $69,620, with a low end of $40,080 and high end of $111,450. If the computer programmer graduates with a bachelor's they can start out with a salary of $61,407.
I believe that this career would not fit in with my personality and interests because I am not the kind of person to just sit around a compter all the time and it seems like a watse of time.

7. Forensic Antropology as a career

The career that I am interested in is forensic anthropology. Forensic anthropology is the study of biological machanisms, and the science of osteology, which has its main focus on the human skeleton. To be a forensic anthropologist you will work for the government at either a state or national level identifying deceased individuals by their skeletons if the body and been mutulated in any way or is in a high level of decomposition.
To be a forensic anthropologist you will need a bachelor's in anatomy, biology, chemistry, physiology or anthropology as well as a graduates degree in human biology or anthropology. Though a master's degree will most likely qualify you to begin your career. Most forensic anthropologists have a Ph.D. degree. The feild of practitioners in this subject are rather small. With this career some may focus on facial recstuction while others mainly focus on skeletal studies.
The average salary for a forensic anthropologist as a lecturer or assistant professer at a university is approxiamately $35,000-$50,0000. For a full time professor at a major university it's around $90,000-$100,000. If hired to work for the state or federal level based on experience it may be $75,000-$95,000 and up.
I believe that this career would suit me because I see myself as a very technical person at most times. I tend to ask "why?" all the time even when its annoying to other people when I ask. I want to know everything about what everything is and why it is that way.
